CASIO G-SHOCK

This is my well battered Casio G-shock GL-150-8- i bought this watch in Gibraltar 19 years ago. I still have'nt worked out all the functions on it and probably never will. It has served me well and been down to 145m no problem. They are easy to see in the dark with the indigo backlight. £40 well spent.

The Casio G-Shock is the proffesional divers choice as a diving watch, if the watch was lost, there would be less tears.

FAKE.....16600 SEA DWELLER......FAKE

This fake 16600 was given to me by a colleague who bought it in Thailand for about £30. How they make this for £30 and still make a profit is beyond me. I do not endorse the manufacture of these watches, there are many fakes and clones out there that are designed to fool would be buyers, so beware.
Surprisingly this watch is still working after 12 years and survived a 100m dive.

Rolex submariner 1680

This is my Father's Rolex submariner, purchased in 1978. I advised him that it would benefit from a service. So this year it had its first service in 29 years. It is now back to its original mint condition.

Zodiac Sea wolf 1966

This is my Dads Zodiac Sea Wolf divers watch, it was his first diving watch. I remember his excitement when he brought it home, that was in 1966 when i was 9 years old. This watch still has its original inner and outer box and papers.

For those that do not know, 1966 was the year that England won the World Cup and Geoff Hurst scored a Hat-trick.

Seiko divers watch 1976

The following watch is owned by my Great friend and author, Tony "BIG T" Groom, He bought the Seiko divers watch in 1977 whilst in Fiji, he was working with the Fleet Clearance diving team. The task was to clear the atol at funafuti of mines from the 2nd world war.

Tony is the author of the book 'DIVER' the story of a Royal Navy diver and his career, including bomb disposal during the falkland conflict, when he was called upon to remove live bombs that had penetrated the hulls of our warships.

Although not a diving watch, this one deserves a place on these pages. This is my Grandads Smiths Astral Gold watch, awarded to him after 45 years of service to British Railways.

Mike Youngs Seiko Diving watch

Mike Youngs Seiko dive watch Circa 30 years old. I offered Mike my Comex Rolex 16660 complete with box and papers in 1994 for £1000, The local Rolex agent told him to not touch it with a bargepole, because it was probably a fake. Mike opted to stick with his trusty Seiko. His school reports often said he was very silly boy.
